I am running WinXP Pro and one of the things I do is record tv shows
and then edit out the commercials. After creating a new video without
commercials, I delete the original.
Then I periodically copy those completed files off to another drive.
I have done 50-60 of these so far without problem.
This morning, I went to delete the original file (about 1.5GB). I
usually do a shift delete to bypass the recycle bin.
This time when I did it, I don't know if my fingers slipped or what
happened. After hitting delete, the entire folder disappeared. There
was no confirmation question of any sort. I have looked in the
recycle bin, tried several other programs looking for undeleted files
with no luck.
I am reasonably confident that the data still exists in some format:
The free space is still about 8.5GB which it was before I started.
If anyone has any suggestions to recover the data, it would be greatly
appreciated. Even if there is a suggestion to eliminate this in the
future would be helpful.
Thanks in Advance for any help and/or suggestions.
