Help!!!
I copied some files to my new profile and then restarted my PC. When i
logged back on windows told me that my profile could not be saved and the
files i copied are no longer there.
i don't have any other backups of them.
i've tried system restore and 3rd party restoration software but nothing has
helped.
anyone have any ideas??

If you truly "copied" the files rather than moved, then the originals
are still where you copied them from....

If data recovery software didn't help, then you have only two choices:

1. Take the machine to a local professional who is skilled in doing
software data recovery. This will not be at a BigStoreUSA type place. I
mention this because you didn't say what "3rd party restoration
software" you used and because I have no idea of your computer skills.

2. If #1 isn't your choice, then the only alternative is to send the
drive to a professional data recovery company such as Drive Savers (my
personal choice). See standard information below:

*IMPORTANT* DO NOTHING FURTHER ON THE DRIVE - General prices for
professional data recovery companies run from $500USD on up. Drive
Savers recovered all the data on a failed laptop drive for one of my
clients and it cost $2,700. He thought it was worth the money; only you
know what your data is worth. I understand that some insurance companies
are now covering data recovery charges under "Loss of Intellectual
Property" so check with yours.

Which third party software have you tried? Depending on the files that were
lost you may find that recovery software will identify lost files and will
recover them but the names that you gave the files have changed and are no
longer recognizable. For example your lost files might be recoverable as
D0001.mp3, D0002.mp3, D0004.mp3 , or D0001.doc, D0002.doc, D0003.doc

Remember that continuing to work on the drive, even rebooting the system,
runs the risk of overwriting lost files. You should use a recovery program
that runs from a floppy or CD or attach the drive to a second computer and
runt he recovery program from there rather than from the drive that has the
lost files on it.
