Have had problemsbootin up. A notice appeared thatI had lostafile, (?type?significance)
How can I check for and restore lost files

Go to Start > Run and type cmd
then type sfc /scannow
(note the space between the c and the forward slash)

You will need the XP CD.
The program will replace any missing or damaged system file.

You may need to go to Windows Update to update your computer.
