Does this make the messages you have already read appear?
Most versions of the McAfee antivirus software cause assorted problems
in Windows Mail, although seldom immediately, and stopping it from
causing more problems requires uninstalling it, not just disabling it. So
do
most versions of the Norton antivirus software and a recent version from
Trend.
If you want a replacement antivirus program, I recommend avast! or AVG
for home use, either one with a custom install that tells it to leave out
the
part that scans email, and I've seen NOD32 recommended for business
use:
