While trying to set-up a wireless connection for my laptop I accidently
changed my computer settings so that the domain was no longer shown on the
Windows XP login window. Now I can not log into windows to change this back
because without the domain field you are not allowed to log in. Can anyone
help me get this setting back the way it should be?

Thanks

By changing the computer from the domain to a workgroup, you have
destroyed the trust between the domain and the machine. In doing so,
you have also rendered any domain login credentials as invalid. You
need to be physically connected to the domain network, you need to have
administrative privileges to the workstation, and you need to have
administrative privileges on the domain. Then you can add the machine
back on to the domain, after having first deleted the computer's old
domain account (unless you've also renamed the computer).

Mike,

You can log onto the local machine without a domain being available even if
you previously logged onto a domain. From your logon window, there is a
field called "Log on to:" and there is a drop down. There should be a
listing for COMPUTERNAME (this computer) which will be the local machine.
Now all you need and I'm assuming you have this info, is the Adminstrator ID
and password on the local machine.
