Lost Directory Access....

Maybe someone can help with this.

I moved a directory w/some sensitive docs to c: windows\prefetch to keep it
from prying eyes.

Now I cannot access the directory! I get an error message stating "access
denied".

After using system restore, the directory appeared in its original spot,
but is now empty.

Can anyone help explain this?

TIA

Why in the world would you move your documents into
a variable Windows system folder ( c: windows\prefetch )?
Since you have now used System Restore, its highly
likely your documents have been deleted. You should
have "taken ownership" of your files instead of using
System Restore. System Restore is designed to restore
"System Files" only.

Thanks,

I learned shortly after posting, that was the absolutely worst folder to
have used! I had no idea prefetch clears itself out, otherwise I would
have not used it.

Not the end of the world but what a pain.
