Lost contact with server

When starting the computer and Windows Mail, both sent and received messages
go through. But right after that the connection with the server is out. The
error code for received messages is 0x800CCC0F and that for sent messages
0x800CCC67. What to do?

What 3rd party programs do you have that interfere with or scan mail, Norton
etc
 
That's not the complete error message.
Right-click on your error message, copy, then paste it into a reply here.
We can't do much troubleshooting without the complete error message.

Try disabling both of those programs, and then try to S&R twice or more?

Let us know how you get on please?

Also go to tools>options>general tab, and disable S&R at start up.

Steve, thank you millions for your response. I am relieved that I have
someone to talk to about my problems. I disabled the Spyware Doctor and the
S&R at start up. I don't have email traffic at this moment so I will test the
amendments tomorrow. I was hesitant to disable the F-Secure program as my
computer would then be unprotected.
 
This is hopeless. I did everything you adviced, and my computer cannot get
connected to the server. Below some of the recent error messages. KA

Are you connecting to this server from your normal location, e.g. at home,
or are you away from home?

Very few of us can read Finnish, so it would be helpful if you included
an English translation of your error messages.

My suggestion is to do a trial uninstall of your F-Secure, just to see if
it is the culprit. Your computer is safe during the few minutes without
an antivirus as long as you don't open attachments or download and run
suspicious files.
 
Can this have anything to do with the fact that I installed the Windows Vista
Service Pack 1 on November 11? That's when the problems with Windows Mail
started.

Next I'll uninstall the F-Secure as you suggested.
 
Those error messages definitely point to a time-out problem
probably caused by antivirus interference.
 
It is remotely possible that Vista's SP1 interacted in some way with
your antivirus program, causing an incompatibility that did not exist before.
However, that does not mean you should uninstall SP1.
There are no reported incompatibilities between SP1 and Windows Mail.
