I think one of the applications of Ahead software namely InCD caused my problem. I recently upgraded this application with the latest and greatest software. Then I decided I didnot need it, so I uninstalled the product. This started my problem I now get an error message in Win-xp SP2 Device drivers after I uninstall and reinstall the hardware device to the effect that;
'Windows cannot load the device driver for this hardware. The driver may be corrupted or missing. (Code 39)'
When I lookup this message on microsofts web site it tells me to uninstall the driver? When I look to see what drivers are associated, I get a list of 10, 4 of which are from Microsoft?! Can someone tell me WHICH driver to uninstall? The list of drivers from MS are as follows:
1) ST0RPROP.DLL; 2) REDBOOK.SYS; 3) IMAPI.SYS; 4) CDROM.SYS
This is the exact message form MS:
Reasons for this error include a driver that is not present; a binary file that is corrupt; a file I/O problem, or a driver that references an entry point in another binary file that could not be loaded.
Uninstall the driver, and then click Scan for hardware changes to reinstall or upgrade the driver.
On the General Properties tab of the device, click Troubleshoot to start the troubleshooting wizard.
Does anyone have a clue as to what driver I need to remove? The other drivers are from various software vendiors such as NTI, Gear,B.H.A., Roxio, and others. Thanks in advamce Tom J.
