Yes WTC. it is an external case. Im using WinXp sp1,sp2.

folders for the drive...
Pegasus - I do have a BartPE disc that I made yesterday, But I have no
clue
on how to use it and is it complicated?
OK, let us go through the steps.
1. Type the following in the Run dialog box
regedit
2. Now highlight "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE". Go to the File Menu and select "Load
Hive"
3. Navigate to this location on the external hard drive.
Windows\System32\Config
and select the file "system". Has no file extension. Name the loaded hive
"MyRegistry"
Note: You may need to "Show hidden files and folders" in order to see the
"system" file through Folder Options in the Control Panel.
4. Now navigate to this locate in regedit
HKLM\MyRegistry\MountedDevices
5. Delete all the names that look like this in the right-hand pane.
DosDevices\A:
DosDevices\C:
and so on.
6. Highlight "HKLM\Myregistry" and go to the File Menu in regedit to "Unload
Hive."
7. Put the hard drive back in to the machine where you took it out to see if
you are able to log on.
Good Luck
