At one point i accidentaly deleted the volume control program. Then when i loaded an update for winodows media player it seems to have set the master mute to mute, but i cant change this since i have no volume program. Then when i go to add remove programs and under the microsoft programs and the volume control is no where to be found. I dont want to have to completelu reinstal windows how can i fix this problem.

Not quite sure if you removed the volume control totally or just the icon.

Volume Icon Is Not Displayed in the Notification Area, and You Receive an Error
Message When You Try to Add It
or

Put the speaker volume control icon back on the Taskbar:-

To place the volume control icon back next to the clock, follow these steps:
1. Open the Control Panel from the Start menu.
2. Click the Sounds Speech and Audio Devices icon. (Or, depending how your
Control Panel is set up, click the Sounds and Audio Devices icon.)
3. Click "Adjust the system volume."
4. Click in the box marked "Place volume icon in the taskbar."
5. Click the OK button, and the little Speaker icon appears next to the clock,
where it should be.
