I upgraded my system to XP last summer. Just last month I
had horrible computer problems and they had to wipe out my
hard drive. I had the upgrade installed by a local
computer repair service, along with some additional
upgrades. When I went to reinstall Windows XP, I was
unable to locate the certificate of authenticity with my
activation code. I contacted my local computer guy and he
was unable to help me, but would charge me $75.00 for
another code number. I believe that I registered my
version with microsoft and am wondering if I would be able
to obtain the code from them. However, when trying to
contact regarding this information, I am asked for the
number. I do not wish to pay a second time for something
that I have already purchased.
Can anyone help?
