Lost access to computer

I went to use my computer (laptop) and it had ni icons just the blue screen, the cursor worked but nothing else, in the the end i did a recover, reformatted the drive. I have had a lot of trouble with slow computer, when dialing into my first internet contact it closed down, then was OK, not to mention a lot of funny problems to many to mention. Now its O
BUT I have no EXCEL or WORD, where do I get that again. I run XP with Office Professional>??

Office Professional>??

Reinstall the office program. Those aren't part of the OS.
