right yp front I have to say that I recently installed a new drive, used ghost to clone a copy of my c drive and switched jumpers to make my new drive the master.
I have lost the ability to send e-mails...I can access the web and I receive e-mails ok..when I try to send e-mails they just stay in the outbox and I get lots of msgs about ' send and rec error 0x800ccc13' unable to access the network check your network or modem....as I can do the above it would seem this is a red herring..? I also get a time out error ( if I leave it long enough) 0x8004210b. I notice that my reference in my account still points at the 'C' drive....

Any ideas..? i can ping the pop server and also run tracert against the ip address with no problem...

Have you checked your SMTP settings? outgoing mail is
typically sent via SMTP.

Follow the same procedure to check whether or not you can
see the SMTP server... another thing you might want to
try is connecting to the SMTP server via telnet... if you
are not familiar with this process, you simply type the
following command as a command line:

telnet type_smtp_server_here 25

This will attempt to connect to the SMTP server on port
25, (the SMTP port)
