Loss of sound

My computer crashed last weekend and I had to re-enter Windows etc. Since then we are unable to listen to any music as we have no sound. We have checked the wiring and everything is correct.
 
Linda, if you reinstalled Windows then look in Control Panel>Sound and
Audio Devices>Volume>Advanced. Make sure
that none of the mute boxes are checked and that the sliders are up at
least half way.
