Loss of search (local files)

Search now only finds files about 10 to 20% of the time, mostly it says "no files found", even when I can see them right in front of me! Have I broken my indexing? I have "index this drive for faster file searching" off, and I used to have it on. Any ideas?

Try turning Indexing back on and see if your problem still occurs.

Works now! I'm sure I tried that before. So the non-indexed search must be broken somehow?

Pity I have to have that on - the messing about with the disk in the background is irritating.
 
It's not a racket, I have suspended disks which create no vibration. The bother was it was slowing it down. Well when I replace the 10 quid raid card with a 250 wquid card it should improve....

As they say "No free lunch", not to worry the racket subsides after awhile.
