I recently got wormed as a result all my accounts on the computer (e machine
running xp sp2) have been reduced to limited access. I realy would like to be
able to save the files I have and take back comtrol. I have been running pc
cillian 2007 it was running at the time (thats how I saw the worm
notifications)

Thanks Ralph

There is an inbuilt "Administrator" accounts which you may not see while
login to Windows XP. Hidden by default if another administrator account
exist.

At the login screen press CTRL+ALT+DEL twice. This will bring up the User
Name and Password dialog box. Type Administrator as user name and leave the
password blank or use the password which has been used at time of Windows XP
installation. Once you login then you can again take control of your other
users.

Hope this help, let us know!

What Rajkohli posted to you works if it's XP Pro.

If you have XP Home, to access the Administrator account boot into safe
mode. Restart the computer, as the Bios screen disappears repeatedly tap
the F8 key until the advanced options menu appears one choice of which will
be safe mode. Take that. At the Welcome Screen Administrator should be
visible. The password is probably blank.

If none of this works use the following utility to reset the password for
the built in Administrator account.

Then back up your data and do a Repair Install. If the Repair Install
doesn't work, do a Clean Install.

Don't get on the Internet until you have the Windows SP2 firewall in
place. Keep your antivirus updated and practice Safe Hex to prevent
infection in the future.
