Losing Volume

I haven't touched the volume control on the task bar however, most of the
time when I turn on the computer the volume sounds like it is turned down.
Sometimes (very rarely recently) the volume is fine. I'm mainly talking
about the volume of the sounds that I here when opening and closing windows,
etc.. Any ideas?

Try with a different set of speakers and see if that fixes it. Since you
didn't say what kinds of speakers you have, that's about as specific an
answer as you can get.
