Problem: My computer at the office previously connected to
a corporate workgroup. Recently, we switched to a domain.
When my computer was configured for the domain, I lost all
of my user settings...desktop, start menu, documents, etc.
If I do not log into the domain at startup, and instead
just log onto my local machine, everything comes back.
I have found in "Documents and Settings" a two "user"
folders; one with my orignal user name and the other with
the domain appended (ie, user.DOMAIN). My original
settings are in the plain user folder, and the new
configuration is in the user.DOMAIN folder. Copying one to
the other doesn't seem to work.
So, how can I get my computer back to the configuration I
have customized, but still log onto the new corporate network?
Would appreciate any help with this matter. I can't find
anything like this in the KB.
Thanks!
