My husband is a self-taught beginner with WMM. He spent hours working
on a slideshow, saved the project. The next time he opened it, about
1/3 of the photos show just a big red X on the timeline and show
nothing if he tries to playback.

What did he do?

TIA for all advice.

Betsy

I should add that when he views the collection he was using for this
presentation, it also shows many of his photos as X's.

Thanks again,

Betsy

It has been awhile since I used this program, but my guess is that the
ORIGINAL photos / videos have been moved or deleted from his hard drive.
Many programs have "pointers" to the original location of the files until
such time as the final project is actually rendered. Perhaps he moved the
folder, or re-named the folder where the originals were?

Hi Michael-

Thanks for this reply. I had thought that might be the problem, but he
swears that he didn't move or delete anything. Perhaps when I sit down
with him tonight we'll find that he inadvertantly moved some photos...?
I know that he didn't delete 'em, 'cause he has since been able to
rebuild the collection and the slide show.
