I copy a specific worksheet month after month (my entire
customer base) and update it for that month and then sort
it. Time after time I realize that customers are missing
and they just disappear off the sheet. I don't know
what's going on or how to fix it. Any ideas?

how did you copy....

You can instead maintain a single sheet and keep updating
that sheet and take the data you whenever want by doing
filtering. I am not sure if this idea helps you......

Srinivas.

I don't know how to filter. And the reason that I copy
it to the next month is because I need to keep a monthly
copy of all changes. So, I copy it (at the bottom) and
then change the name of the new copy to the present month.
What does filtering do?

Hi Diane,

If all you need is a copy, why not just save your file to
a different (dated) file name, especially if you're having
problems copying a sheet.

Don

Do save the ild file by using 'File->Save as' function and
name it with the current month so that you can keep the
old sheet intact
and
the filter function is available in Data->Filter->Auto
Filter.

How?....

Select the title row and then try the above function, you
will find the data filtered on the basis of the title row
and you can get the data you wanted using 'custom' option
available in the filter.

I guess I could save it and then open a new worksheet but
I like to have them all in one document so I can compare
at a glance without having to open each one separately.

I don't know anything about filtering. What does it do?
And I think I am losing my rows when I sort...so I think
that sorting is the problem. Any solutions to that?
Have you ever heard of that happening? Diane
