Loop through Sent Emails and delete

I'd like to get a function to loop through my "sent emails" folder and
delete all messages.

I realize the following

1) I'm being extremely lazy and I should write my own and I should be
ashamed of myself for even asking

and

2) I can simply uncheck the option to save sent email in the "Sent" folder,
which would preclude me from having to delete the emails to begin with.

But....

I would like this function anyway.

Why not just manually delete the sent items you want? You can select all, or
a range, and delete.

Because I don't want to have to be there to open outlook and delete the
files....I want to automate it.

That's not possible, since Outlook will need to be open to perform the
deletion even if you could automate it.

Steve, are you sure?

I can use Outlook Express to send emails via MAPI and it doesn't need to be
open.

Apples and Oranges. 1) You were talking about deleting messages from the
Sent Items folder in Outlook, not sending messages. 2) Outlook and Outlook
Express are two different applications and work differently. In Outlook
Express, you could easily "empty" the Deleted Items folder by simply
deleting the "Deleted Items.dbx" file. That's not true with Outlook. 3)
The MAPI used in Outlook is more extensive than the Simple MAPI Outlook
Express uses.

Try the Outlook programming group. I think you would need to write this
yourself.
