I have created a workbook that is pulling data from other workbooks (that I
do not own & therefore do not change). While I don't care for the set up of
some of these workbooks, I am trying to work around them and get the data for
which I am looking. Here's an example of my problem:
Company names in my workbook (nice & clean):
Company ABC
Company DEF
Company GHI
Assume the company names are in column A.
Company names in another workbook (a little junky):
Company ABC
Company DEF (closing 1/1/06)
Company GHI
Assume the company names are in column A and a corresponding salesperson
(feel free to make up your own names) is in column B.
I would like to be able to do a lookup on the company names (or at least
their "frontend") to bring back the salesperson. Company DEF is my problem.
How do I write a formula that will bring back the salesperson for Company
DEF??
Thanks for your help!!
