looking for template to manage blueprint storage indexing

Despite your initial response help in these newsgroups is FREE. That being
said...

Your request is very specific and the odds of finding something that exactly
suits your needs is kinda slim. Have you looked at the Microsoft's
templates? Perhaps there is something there that could be modified?

You won't find an off-the-shelf, ready to go template. If you are lucky
you might find something close which would need modified for how your
system works. If your need is immediate, I can create a template for you.
I provide help for Access, Excel and Word applications for a modest fee.

These newsgroups are provided by Microsoft for FREE peer to peer support.
There are many highly qualified individuals who gladly help for free. Stevie
is not one of them, he just dos not get the idea of "FREE" support. He
offers questionable results at unreasonable prices. If he was any good, the
"thousands" of people he claims to have helped would be flooding him with
work, but there appears to be drought and he needs to grovel for work.

We do that here.

The structure is very simple, but needs to be adapted to your specifics.
Looking for a "template" isn't the way to do this.

The first question is which of these two is the case:

1. You know Access or plan to learn it to do this.

Then start with deciding which pieces of information on each drawing you
want to store (drawing #, description, format, location etc.) and make a
table with those fields in it. Make forms or printouts as desired, and ask
questions in the forum. The Access side of this would be simple....a good
one to cut your teeth on.

2. You don't know Access and don't plan to learn it for this. You might
try making your own spreadsheet (weaker solution but easier to learn than
Access) or a table in Word (doubly weaker, and even easier to learn) or else
pay someone to develop it. But an abuser of free forums wouldn't be a
good place to start looking.
