I wrote an activex component recently to do just that, that could be used
within a simple script. So if no-one else suggests anything else, I might
consider developing it further for distribution at a later date.

I can't suggest software, but I can vote for this idea being
needed. I am a writer, and I am in process of writing
several scripts.

It would help me to be able to hear the scripts read by
several different voices without having to recruit warm
bodies who I can't afford to pay at the present time.

TIA

I think XP has this capability under accessibility
options (where screen magnifier is) & I know Dragon VR
does this.

Any advise is my attempt to contribute more than I have received but I can only assure you that it works on my PC. GOOD LUCK.

Ok, cool. Well the "reply to" email address in my header is valid. So if
you, or anyone else is interested, send me an email, and perhaps in a few
weeks or so, I will have a distributable version available, in which case,
I'll send you details.

I currently use it, since it's much more pleasant to have your computer
telling you things / providing you with useful information, in a pleasant
voice, than having some popup dialog box on the screen.
