Nothing compares to The Diary v2.2! It's difficult to find now since
Overware closed up shop a long time ago

You can see an enlargeable screenshot here:
http://translate.google.com/transla...earch?q=overware+the-diary-2.2&hl=en&lr=&sa=G
(though my screen has more text area and less calendar than shown
here. Don't know why calendar is so big in that pic, but not so in
real life).

I can't seem to find a working link, but I'd be happy to post to
alt.binaries.freeware. Let me know.

Hi fitwell,

Rats - I don't want to lose this Pricelessware program.

Program: The Diary
Author: Overware Systems (Bob Dolan)
PL2001

There are two file names: thediary.zip DiarySetup.exe but I haven't found a DL for v 2.2 (I don't
know the file sizes).

I think distribution may be allowed - if so perhaps someone here will be willing to host it.

I'd be grateful if you could upload your file to YouSendIt. The easiest way to do this is to send
the file to yourself and post the download URL in ACF.

http://www.yousendit.com/

TIA

Susan

I have just uploaded the .zip version of this program to
alt.binaries.freeware . I regret that I am unable to host this program
at this time for you. Perhaps someone else will come forward.

Thanks much. :) If no one volunteers to host it could someone please DL the file and upload to
YouSendIt. I don't have access to binary newsgroups and I'd like to get a copy.

2 versions posted on alt.comp.binaries, v2.0 and v2.2 (the 2.2 version
has the icons in it, something to my mind that makes this diary
program superior to all the rest).
Thank You!

If possible I'd like to get the orginal v2.2 .zip file.

Many Thanks,

Can you please try posting v2.2 to a.b.f. again please. The attachment
seems to be missing. Your posts show up as being only 3 or 4kb each.

They showed up fine here. I'm guessing your ISP stripped the
attachment msg. I have my Agent set to send text and attachments
separate (that way I keep only msgs with text so that I know what I
sent yet the attachment msgs I can delete as I already have the app).
Did you check to see if the attachment was separate somewhere else, by
any chance?

Re-sending. Cheers.

Still no joy here. It probably is my ISP. Sympatico has been known to do
some odd things when it comes to Usenet.

I'd be grateful if you could upload your file to YouSendIt. The easiest
way to do this is to send the file to yourself and post the download URL
in ACF.

Neat. I didn't know how this service worked. Pretty kewl. Okay,
sent via YouSendIt.

The original v2.2 is found at:
http://s24.yousendit.com/d.aspx?id=0L31ITUKIWZ0W3H0WI0DBCII5I

My customized version [unnecessary shadow.exe file removed, zip made
into executable, personalized icons. Those are only small
differences. Still a standalone app, ultimately]:
http://s6.yousendit.com/d.aspx?id=1H7MA1X2Q1E1H0E4ETOXYRT4RR

Apparently available for 7 days and for a limited number of dl
(whatever that means, no # specified).

Anyway, let me know how it goes.

Thanks for this tip. I'll likely be using this method a lot in future
whenever there are troubles with alt.binaries.freeware.

Cheers. :oD

Thanks fitwell that worked. I'll take a look at both versions later today.

BTW I found out about You Send It from another post in this thread from
Susan Burgher.

Sympatico and apparently some other Canadian ISPs have been disrupting
the binary feeds to their customers, because of the amount of "criminal"
(note the quotation marks)that take place in these groups (read music,
movie and software sharing). You Send It appears to be a great
alternative for this group.

Thanks again

Many many thanks to both of you. :) No volunteers to host the file yet so I uploaded it to the PWH

Did it get through? If not, I can re-send via yousendit. I've done
searches before. It's virtually disappeared.

Super! This msg came delayed and I'd posted my query if you needed it
to be re-sent. Pls ignore that one as I see that you must have
received the file <g>.
