Hi,

A question about shutting down Windows XP Pro (SP2 and with all updates).

It takes about 1 min for the Windows to shut down and it's the "Saving Your
Settings" process that taking the time consumed.

It only happens to the primary account which is Administrator account, and
the other user account with the same privilege is ok.

Additionally, it's much faster using similar desktop machine than using this
notebook which is not so old and has 512MB.

Other than the long shut down time, everything else is fine.

Just wondering if there are ways to make it faster?

Thanks.

Hi xfile,

Give this article a try. I advise you make any and all wise backups
such as data files and the registry and mabey a restore point too before
making any changes. Good luck!
