I have post it to the Active Directory disscussion group,
but no one response....I am very curious about the odd behaviour of client computers
(those are Windows XP +sp1 + all hotfixes and number of apps)
when Properties of drive c: in the Explorer are "asked" by either
domain user or local user for the very first time. Second attempt is OK.
There is Windows 2003 domain (AD), TCP over NetBios is
diabled and DNS is used for "name resolution". Users have
their home directories, profiles and mapped network disks.
The second use of Properties is very quick. The same situation
is with running functions (routines), saving files, etc.
(Offline folders are now deactivated.) I have done many tests with
TCPviewer, Filemonitor, etc but nothing special has been found
except the system requires some old offline file. This was cured by
cleaning drive, but the problem persists.
<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<,
Any idea or explanation of slow response?
TIA
