Long File Names

How do I turn on long file names? When I copy files with long file names from an external hard drive, I get an error stating that the file name is to long. Also, when naming a file, especially if the folder is a sub-sub folder, I cannot give the file a long file name.

I think you need to post to a NG corresponding to your unspecified Windows
version.
