I like teh other diagnosis method posted..

I'm 90% sure this is safe.. I'm sure i've done it before just for the
hell of it.
Try deleting the "profile" associated with the user account.

Meaning, - and this may not be official terminology.
When I say profiel, I mean the user's directory. I think profile is the
MS term for that.

Every user has a user account and an associated profile. It's
possible to have a user accoutn, and no profile. in which case the
profile is recreated on first log in. And it's possible to have a
profile and no user account. I think that when a user account is
deleted the profile remains.

Your profile may have become corrupt in a way that it cannot load, and
so a solution would be to move the data out of there, then delete the
profile, and user account, then create the user account, log in, and
let it recreate the profile.

Yea i meant to say that, im kinda new to all this and i tried to delete that
account and tried to create another under safe mode/administrator or
whatever. So what must be done is delete all accounts and then what create a
new one as soon as i delete the other accounts.

The only time i can logon is when im in safe mode. they told me to go into
safe mode and check the accounts and if have to delete accounts.

If you can't get into Regular Mode in a new user account that you just
created but you can log on in Safe Mode, something is starting in
Regular Mode that is causing a problem. It could be software (bad
drivers, malware, some startup program that is failing, damage to the
system files) or it could be hardware (bad video card for ex.).
Unfortunately, there isn't any way for us to tell with the information
provided.

Some general suggestions for troubleshooting:

1. Do a clean-boot and see if you can get into Regular Mode:

Clean boot in Windows XP - http://support.microsoft.com/kb/310353

Clean-boot advanced troubleshooting in Windows XP -
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/316434

and How to Troubleshoot By Using the Msconfig Utility in Windows XP -
http://support.microsoft.com/?id=310560

2. The First Question Of Troubleshooting: what changed between the time
things worked and the time they didn't?

3. The Second Question of Windows Troubleshooting: what is the
malware/virus status of the machine? If you think it is clean, what
programs (and versions) did you use to determine this? Be sure:

4. If the procedures look too complex - and there is no shame in
admitting this isn't your cup of tea - take the machine to a
professional computer repair shop (not your local version of
BigStoreUSA).

Ideally, delete only the DIRECTORY assocuiated with the user account
that you can't log into. i.e. you are not deleting user accounts.

You could delete all Directories But that is problematic because you
cant' delete one you are currently logged into. win xp won't let you.

If you have no idea what accoutn ti is trying to log into.. but can
get into safe mode, then do it
BTW, that's strange 'cos it means you can log in to whatever the
"default" account is- at least in safe mode...
either
a)figure out what account it is logging into in safe mode, and delete
the directory of that. Then when you go into windows in normal mode -
or safe mode - it will recreate that account.
or
b)delete all directories

For 'a', don't don't have to figure out WHY it logs into or tries to
log into automatically to a particular account. You just need to know
which it logs into, which is easy you just do CTRL+ALT+DELETE brings
up task manager and displays the username

you better understand the basics.
If I say delete the directory i'm not referring to the whole account.
And you can't delete the directory of an account you are logged into.

You could get in in safe mode, create a new account and tell windows to
log into that. Then maybe you can get in, then maybe that'll work in
normal mode.
In which case you'll want a welcome screen or log in , so you can
choose who to log in as.
Widnwos has some itneresting rules.. Create a few accoutns so you get a
welcome screen up. Having just The Administrator accoutn, or The
Administrator account + (another) administrative account is not
enough. You don't want windows to automatically log in.

i'll put it simply By not covering every possibility of your response,
I think I can be a lot simpler in helping you personally and diagnosing
this.

First create another accoutn and log into it (in normal mode).

can you do that (yes,no)?

If yes, we've moved forward.

if no, then the method needs reevaluating. Because it means that even
when it recreates a directory it doesn't help.

ok to answer your question it did not let me log on with the new account it
start laoding personal settings and then it restarts again.

4 things to do

1
as a general rule,, disable the automatic restart, start..ctrl
panel..system..advanced.. startup and recovery settings, uncheck
automatic restart

see if you get a blue screen or error of some kind next time you try to
log in. You may just get a freeze.

Either way, you should get an error listed in event viewer.
start..ctrl panel..administrative tools..event viewer

I would check udner "system" - at least first. And look for red
crosses. Maybe look for yellow exclamation marks. But in my
experience, red crosses under system tend to cause freezes or restarts.

this is very much diagnosis

2
another diagnosis method.

you could run bootlogxp by greatis
http://greatis.com/utilities/bootlogxp/

I've never tried it when I couldn't log in at all. But I think it could
still work. Try installing it in safe mode, from there as that
bootlogxp web page pictures, click "test at next boot"
Then let it boot to nornal mode..
Then when that hangs. Reboot into safe mode, and hopefully your results
from that boot will be there.
You will see the exact file where it hung.

3
I have seen 2 systems that didn't geti nto windows, I unplugged the
usb devices and it got in. (I plugged them back in afterwards).
Actually bootlogxp helped me find that.. So maybe I did once try it
when I couldn't log in..

So, do try bootlogxp, and also, just try unplugging the usb devices.
I think maybe safe mode doesn't autodetect usb devices. In normal
mode, , you see when you plug in a usb device, it appears in device
manager. Remove it and it disappears.

Somethign is loading up and causing the crash. Bootlogxp should find it
and may be quicker as a route to a solution, than reinstalling
windows. It's also good incase the problem occurs again - you'll know
the cause or how to avoid it happening again.

4
you could reinstall windows. That'll almost certainly solve it - if not
then it narrows it down greatly.
before reinstalling.. see if bootlogxp helps. Also, you could try
disabling many things from starting up.
start..run..msconfig
Also

Startup control panel, autoruns, codestuff starter <-- better than
msconfig

I seem to recall that one of those programs is a it dangerous incase
one clicks/deselects the wrong thing. I don't use these programs much.
I think it was autoruns, is a powerful program - but may have that
danger aspect if you're nto careful. So, try the others first!

What are some good programs to remove, bad
drivers, malware, some startup program that is failing, damage to the
system files

Hello everyone, i just wanted to let you all know that i found out today that
it could be a driver problem. so i wanted to know if there is a way i can
find out what driver is giving me the problem, is there some program.
