Logon/Password/domain not working

I have purchased a computer which has a username & password which I do not
know. I have tried the Ctrl/Alt/Del technique & it does not appear to work,
any ideas?
There are currently 2 Logons on the machine.
When done the ctrl/alt/del thing it says the system could not log you on,
make sure your user name & domain are correct and retype your password.

Any ideas greatly appreciated

If you have the Windows XP CD, I would use it to boot the
system and then use the format feature to format the boot
drive, and then reinstall XP.

Unfortunately the Windows XP CD did not come with the computer when I bought
it.
Any other ideas?
