I run 3 computers, 2 Wired & 1 Wireless- on the same workgroup, My computer
in question runs XP with Norton Internet Security 2006. The windows firewall
is off as I use the firewall on Norton, all three are set up the same to the
best of my knowledge.

Computer 1 is a desktop running XP SP2

Computer 2 is a desktop running XP Pro but is still on SP1

Computer 3 is a laptop running XP SP2

When I try to access computer 1 from either computer I get the error: logon
failu the user has not been granted the requested logon type at this computer

I can access Computer 2 & 3 from Computer 1

I can access Computer 2 or 3 from each other- no one can access Computer 1

Any ideas?

i have never used norton 2006 before, but i have used previous editions.

typically you need to set a range of ip addresses or individual addresses
that can pass through your norton firewall. it sounds like you may have done
since a some of you connections are working but check your settings again.

if you didn't do this i don't know where in the norton 2006 menus you need
to go but look for something like 'pass through', 'forwarding' or 'trusted'.

the addresses that you should use are in the range of your network...ie if
you router ip address is 192.186.3.1. your first connection should be
192.186.3.2, second should be 192.186.3.3 and then so forward. so you could
set your range just for the computers or if you want as many computers can
set on your router, but i wouldn't do the second one since you have a
wireless connection.

i hope that helps

probably symantic has some sort of walkthrough or procedure you could look
at if you don't get your ansewer here
