Any help appreciated....

Two computers in a workgroup.
Computer A is Win XP Pro
Computer B is Win 2k Pro

Computer A has 2 users, Sally and Joe
Both are part of Administrators group.
Computer B has 2 users, Sally and Joe
Both are part of Administrators group.
Neither user account has any password set at all.

Computer A has simple sharing DISABLED.
Computer A has XP's ICF firewall DISABLED.

Computer A can utilize shared printer and folders on
Computer B.
Computer B CANNOT utilize shared printer OR folders on
Computer A. Error is "logon failure, user account
restriction"

All worked fine until Computer A was upgraded to Win XP
Pro. That is when the error first showed up.
(Configuration worked well for over a year when both
machines where Win2k Pro.)

XP by default does not allow network access using
an account that has no password. This can be changed
in Local Security Policy, but doing so is not a good idea.
Admin accounts should always have strong passwords
if you want to keep control of the systems for yourself.

Yes, thank you. Just before I read your msg I noticed
the setting:
"Accounts: Limit local account use of blank passwords to
console logon only"
....was set to ...
"Not Defined"

When I set this to "Disabled" I could then logon from the
W2k machine.
So, now I will set up passwords and Enable this setting.

Thanks for the help.
