Your post is unclear. If you need a good answer then you have
to take the time to explain exactly what you did and what
happens now.

I did a drive image (total copy of HD1 to HD2) using driveImage8, 'cause my
HD2 is larger;
after that, using only HD2 now, when win 98 starts and I put my pwd, win xp
imediatelly logoff, even in sefe mode
 
errata, read win xp instead win 98

Your system drive letter is probably wrong. The cure depends on
your setup:
- Is the machine networked, or
- Do you have ready access to another WinXP/2000 PC?
