On reading the Windows XP Logo certification requirements, it appears to me
the when the application is iuninstalled, it should delete itself completely
from the registry and filesystem. If this is the case, how can trial
versions of software be built? What I mean is, if a user uninstalls and
reinstalls the trial version, the softeware has no way of knowing whether it
was previously installed on this system as all traces of it are wiped out
from registry and filesystem as a result of its meeting the Logo
requirements. The the trial period cannopt be enforced.

Please tell me a way to go around this issue in a way that provides minimum
inconvenience to the user.

Thanks,
Ram Shriram
