Hi all.

I installed SP2. The only (apparent) subsequent problem is my 'Logitech
Cordless Mouseman Optical' mouse has stopped working.

I've downloaded the latest driver. (Still not working.)

No mention of a problem on either the Logitech or Microsoft site. (As far as
I can see.)

I'm hoping someone knows something!

Thanks and regards.

Hi; thanks for caring.

The laptop has only one USB port; it's working fine with a conventional
mouse.

Regards.

Does it detect the USB Logitech mouse at all? Are the battery working fine
in the mouse itself?

Hi. Thanks for sticking with it.

Does it detect the USB Logitech mouse at all?

After loading the updated driver, on restarting I had the pop-up that says
something along the lines of: "New device attached", so it certainly detects
that something's connected to the computer.

Are the battery working fine in the mouse itself?

Yes.

When I press the 'Connect' button on the controller, together with the small
button on the mouse (which would previously result in the relevant pop-up
popping up) I don't get the pop-up. Or a mouse that works!

Regards.

Oh, and...

In a Mac newsgroup, I was reading about an alternative mouse driver (it was
described as being a driver for all optical mouses), which was claimed to be
better than many proprietary mouses.

Would a pc-equivalent (are there such things? I haven't been able to locate
any on the download sites) be a sensible alternative approach?

Thanks.

I haven't heard of an alternative optical mouse driver...... is there
something in the house that could be transmitting on the same frequency as
the mouse, therefore interfering with the wireless?

Cari, you're a good person, but I need to let you get on with your life.

I sense from our exchange that there isn't an established problem. I'll
revert to Plan B (ignore it for a while and then see if it works).

Thanks for caring; greetings from Wales!

I have had that happen a few times for no obvious reason.
A friend has the same model and I always try his mouse
with my transceiver. It may or may not work, and then I
try his transceiver with his mouse. That always works.
Then I try my mouse with his transceiver. That works.
Then I try my mouse with my transceiver and all is well.
Grr! (Sometimes I have to press one or both connect
buttons if one step doesn't work, then move on.)

Mike

I've seen the same problem before when working with a customer on th
phone. You may want to call Logitech and report it to them. That i
what I told him to do. It's probably going to require a driver updat
or something.

Hi Spamfree!

I'm having a similar problem with my Cordless Mouseman optical. Window
won't install the correct drivers for it so that Mouseware can detec
it. I'm searching for an answer and if I find one I'll post it here
