All of a sudden we are unable to log on. Whenever on of
us trys to log on the system it starts to log on gets to
the desktop background(you can't see any icons) and then
switches right back to the log on screen and says it is
logging out. No one can get on to the computer.

hi, this means you or the person who built the computer for
you used a bootled product key, what windows is doing is
its restricting you from using it due to the invalid key.
my guess is you installed some windows or office updates
right before you restarted, what you need to do is use the
windows cd to boot and repair the installation, it should
ask you for a new key, use a valid key!!!no bootlegs!!!,
doing it this way will save all your settings and programs.
btw you might have to go into bios and change the boot
devices around and put the cd-rom as first choice. once you
do that, put the cd in before you restart and you should
get (press any key to boot from cd......) hit a key then
let the cd load, it will come up with a menu, choose repair
and follow the steps, again use a valid key or even after
the repair it will do the same thing. email me back if u
have any other questions, from experience i know this is a
very uncommon problem. hope it does the trick! peace.
