I get this as well amd have been trying to troubleshoot with spy and
ad ware solutions. My pop up says ndhiep32.exe but that file/program
does not seem to exist.

What popup shows you "ndhiep32.exe"? You definitely have malware on your
machine. Here are routine removal instructions:

What does a scan with a current antivirus program (meaning a version not
earlier than 2003 using updated virus definitions) show? Also, remove
spyware with Spybot Search & Destroy from www.safer-networking.org and
Ad-aware from www.lavasoftusa.com. Be sure to update these programs
before running them. These programs are free, so run them both since
they complement each other. It is best to run antivirus and spyware
removal tools in Safe Mode. You may also want to run CWShredder and
HijackThis from http://aumha.org/freeware.htm. Although CWShredder is
no longer being updated, it will still clean older variants of the
CoolWebSearch malware. A combination of HijackThis and About:Buster
(http://www.majorgeeks.com) works well in removing homepage hijackers.
Please read the instructions carefully. Make sure you are able to see
all hidden files and extensions (View tab in Folder Options). Also,
make sure you've visited Windows Update and applied all security
patches. Do not install driver updates from Windows Update. Make sure
you are running a firewall.

Note that it is very important to view all hidden files and extensions.
Set this option in Folder Options (3 boxes to uncheck). You'll get a
warning when you uncheck "Hide protected system files", but go ahead
anyway. You can always hide them again when your system is clean. It is
also important to do virus and malware removal scans in Safe Mode.

I did a search and found the files residing in Windows folder (hidden) system
32 and prefetch. I have run Spybot S&D, Hijack This and Adaware SE. The
hidden folders were not open though and I was not in safe mode. Virus
software is Freedom Security pack, free from Adelphia Cable. I will try what
you suggest.

One of the other newsgroups suggested deleting the prefetch and renaming the
sys32 file: It worked. I run the spyware/adaware continuously and haven't had
a problem since.
