I ask this question early in the week and was given
the "SETPRFDC" command to try and below is the error I
get. Any Ideas? Thanks

C:\>SETPRFDC AS ASDC1
Cannot set trusted DC to '\\USDC1' it
is '\\asdc1.as.abc.ads':
NO_ERROR
Failed to set the DC.

How can you force a workstation to always use a certian
DC? We have a user that keeps logging in and the domain
that it shows is not local. If the use reboots the they
will get a local DC, this only happens in the morning
time when logon traffic is the greatest. Can this be
done through a GPO, if so what article?

Thanks

So the client is W2000? And you have W2000 DCs? Are you using Sites? If
so, is the local DC to the client in DNS and in the correct site in DNS?
As far as the article, it points out other ways that work even for W2000
clients.
