does any can give me a hint regarding how to setup a user
from the active directory list logon only the following pc
or workstation not all.I checked only the following
computer but it will not log me in.i can not figure out
what i am doing wrong.
thanks inadvance.

NA,

There is a tab in each user's account that can help you to control this. It
is located in the Account tab and you will see a 'log on to...' box. Simply
click on this and then you are free to enter up to eight or 10 computer
accounts ( IIRC ).

This will allow that particular user to log on to only those computers that
you have specified. He or she should not be able to log on to any computer
that is not one of those specific computers.

If you are trying to allow your users to be logged onto only one computer at
a time ( meaning, he is logged on to a computer over there and now he needs
to log on to a computer over here - well, he will need to go log off of that
computer "over there" before he will be able to log on to the computer "over
here" ) then you might look at cconnect from the WIN2000 Resource Kit.

thanks for the Info.I went head on the account tab and
checked 'log on to ...' specified the workstation and
added the drop down list, when i tried to logon that
particular machine i will keep getting error messege.
thanks

NA,

I am not sure that I follow.

In your first post you were asking for help in restricting onto what
computers a domain user can logon. You did not mention any error message.
My assumption is that someone is logging onto a specific computer ( or a
specific group of computers ) and you do not want this to be possible. You
want this someone to be able to log on to computerA and computerB and
computerC but not onto all the rest of the computers. So, we go into the
user account profile and make this change. So, cshultz should be allowed to
log on to the, say, three computers that you listed ( computerA, computerB
and computerC ) and NOT onto any other computer. This is the way that it is
supposed to work. Please remember that you might need to allow a little bit
of time for this to replicate to the other DCs if you have multiple DCs in
your environment ( and even more time if you have multiple Sites ).

You are now trying to do this and you are getting an error message? What is
the error message? You should be getting the "the user account 'cshultz' is
not allowed to log on to this computer" or something to that effect when
cshultz tries to logon to any computer EXCEPT computerA, computerB and/or
computerC.
