Log on error message

After any user, including the administrator, enters log on information in Windows XP Home edition, the following error message comes up:
"The system cannot log you on now because the domain CPQ11469255738 is not available."

Since this is Home Edition, a domain has never been associated with this computer. It is used in stand-alone mode.

What does this error message mean? What can be done to get us logged on to Windows?

Thanks,
John

So you aren't able to log in at all, with any user account? What about in
safe mode? Has this always happened, or did something happen/get installed
in the meantime? Someone may have run one of the tweaks to allow XP Home to
join a domain (not supported).
