Is there a way to remove the "log off" button from the start menu? I do not
require the use of this and am afraid the kids will accidentally hit it.

Any advice is appreciated

Ah. Well, frankly, my advice is that you *do* use it - and set up limited
user accounts for your kids. Yours should have a password on it and be an
admin. Your kids may accidentally or deliberately make changes to
settings/files within your profile, and that could be a very bad thing
indeed. If you use the Welcome screen, it's easy to either switch users or
log out/log in without remembering what one's login name is.

That said, if you're using the classic start menu, you can right-click on
your taskbar/properties/start menu/customize, and untick "Display Log Off".
I don't know how you do this if you're using the Windows XP style one, as I
don't use it (I personally make a habit of disabling all the Windows XP
Teletubbies/Fisher-Price interface stuff on the systems I use/support). Hope
this helps.

Hi,
I too wanted to remove "Log Off" from the start menu (using Classic).
Downloaded TweakUI for XP and followed instructions (clicked Apply and
re-booted) but option is still there.
Have I missed something?

Is: Allow Logoff on Start Menu UNChecked?

If it stll doesn't work...

regs_edits/xp_startmenu_logoff_csm.vbs is the file that you want for Classic
