Is there a way to find out when someone logs into a computer and when they
logoff?

I want to see when an employyee has been logging in and out for the last
past month.

Is that possible?

Hi César,

If you enable auditing for logon events, sure. However, this requires a
Server operating system and probably Active Directory. Using only windows
xp you can still audit file access, but I'm not sure if you can audit
logon events.

Read the event logs to see the auditing results.

Hi,

In Windows XP (and probably 2000 and NT) you can view auditing policies
under All Programs ->Administrative Tools->Local Security Policy, then
navigate to Local Policies and Audit Policy. There're options there on what
are logged. The Event Viewer (also under Admin Tools) displays logs. If
you're on a network things will be different, and if auditing's off I don't
believe there's any record kept of times. There're probably more appopriate
newsgroups for this to do with specific OSs.

If you meant "How can I write a program to record logons?", this probably is
a good newsgroup, and I don't know the answer :-)
