In the Windows/debug/UserMode folder, I have a userenv.log file that is
updated every few seconds.

The file reports: USERENV(734.10c) 14:44:02:612 ProcessAutoexec: Cannot
process autoexec.bat.

As there is no autoexec .bat file in XP how do I stop this constant error
reporting?

What do you mean every few minutes. Autoexec is read at user logon.

The problem has been solved, by making a blank autoexec.bat file in C:/
