is it possible to lock my spreadsheet so that the formulas
can only be changed by me with a password or something, so
that if someone else is using my spreadsheet i don't have
to worry about them deleting a vital formula but the can
insert numbers to cells using the spreadsheet for what i
made it for.

Also can i hide the formulas so that if you are in a cell
you don't actually see the formula in the toolbar or in
the cell. (for job security if someone else took the time
to steal my work i could be out of a job)

Anonymous, short answers: Yes, and Yes.

1-Select the cells with the formulas and Format > Cells > Protection. Check
the Hidden check box, then OK.
2-Select the cells where users will input data and Format > Cells >
Protection. Uncheck the Locked check box, then OK.
3-Tools > Protection > Protect Sheet.

Now for the asterisk: It's been pointed out in these newsgroups many times
that worksheet protection, even with a password, is far from perfect. It's
just about good enough to keep honest people honest, but not much better.

thank you
