I'm trying to prevent some users from installing software
on there systems but I have a program that won't run if
there not part of the Local Admin Group. I have a feeling
its trying to write something to the registry but I'm not
sure. I'm running a Win2k Domain. Thanks in advance for
any help.

You could try to contact the publisher and ask them how to let the program
run as a regular user. If you want you can try to modify permissions your
self using a couple of free tools from Sysinternals. Regmon and filemon will
help track down where permissions are causing denied access. You will need
to logon as regular user and then use run as to invoke those utilities just
before trying to use the problem application. Keep in mind that you can also
use Software Restriction Policies in XP Pro to lock down a workstation -
very powerful stuff once you figure out how to implement it. --- Steve

XP Pro.
