"Locking" a full screen game

I am playing Planetside, which runs full screen.
Occasionally, another program (such as an antivirus
program" running separately will pop up a window. When
this happens, Planetside will automatically minimize to
show the window. This causes the system to freeze for
several minutes and usually crashes Planetside too. Is it
possible to "lock" a full screen application so it will
not be automatically minimized no matter what?

That might be possible, but it can't be done easily...

I find it easiest to disable software which will generate
such pop-ups before starting a game, especially since that
will free up memory resources for the game itself to use. :-)
