Hi,

Some of our users have PST Files configured and move their mails to the pst
files- PST files is on a network drive. Sometimes, when they try to access
the pst files, they get an error message that the folder is in use and
cannot open the file?

Restarting the workstation wont fix this issue-
We have tried copying the pst into a new pst and the issue still occurs-

Can someone give some ideas?

Thanks-

Dear Puga,

A network PST is not supported by Microsoft:
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/297019/EN-US/

but do you have a Virus (DCOM) scanner on the server like Norton 2005 or
MacAffee?

Do you have complete and full rights to the Network folder" where the PST
file is stored?

PSTs on network shares are unsupported and can lead to data loss.

Something has the file locked or the Network Redirector (what provides
access to network files) has reached a file limit or anomaly. Are you using
samba for the network share protocol?
