I have a file that is showing as read only in Excel and I can't make any
changes to it. In Windows Explorer it doesn't show it as read only. If you
try to delete it, it gives you a message that says it is in use close the
program that is using it. The problem is that it is read only because Excel
crashed and left it in use.

How do I fix that without rebooting? I am assuming that will fix the
problem but I can't be sure until I do it. But I would rather do it without
rebooting.

Thanks,

Tom

Why are you so afraid of rebooting? That's the cure for many, many
glitches.
