I recently bought a display computer from a store, got a
great deal.. When i got it home i realized that the
desktop has been locked so customers cant access the
desktop. Its blank, no icons, no start menu and I cant
even use right mouse click. I am assuming this can be
fixed through XP because there is no third party tool
installed. Any help would be great thanks.

All that stuff (no right click on desktop, etc) is controlled from the
registry. Unfortunately, its not one key in the registry... its many. You
can find them here:
www.winguides.com

For example, I did a search for 'no right click desktop' and was able to
find this page:
http://www.winguides.com/registry/display.php/160/
Since the page to the link above shows you how to disable the right click
feature, you are obviously going to want to do the opposite.

To run regedit, press Ctrl+Alt+Delete then click File>Ruun.. and type
regedit

If you need more assistance, post your questions here:

What happened when you powered up this pc? Didn't you see some movement and then Windows XP loading, and then get a login prompt?
Did you used to have to login on this pc?

Are you sure that maybe its just not simply in the "login screen saver mode"? if so, tap the space bar & wait a bit.
OR are you sure that the monitor has the Power ON?

Sounds like you drove a car thru the front door at 3AM to me....... lol.
Go & ask them?
