K first and foremost I hate the fact that I have to use XP in the first place, but hte demands of an up to date system do not allow me to use an older less finicky system... so here is the dea

I upgraded my old computer with a new mobo chipset and ram, got a new hd and got xp to run it all... loaded xp on new hd, with old hd completely disconnected (I do not know why but for some reason I knew something like this would happen). While loading it refused to recognize my internet connection through my on-board ethernet, so I said screw it I will register later... then it finishes the setup and now it will not get past the welcome screen... I only get a pointer then the system locks up and my hard drive stopps reading after that (well of corse that is a given, but it is the only way I know it is locked and not thinking) Needless to say the windows site is not very helpful, so I am hoping that someone here will be able to help me out.
